STEP 1

Mix the ingredients with a spatula until well combined. Use the spatula to rid of lumps as much as possible. Keep your henna paste thicker than what you want it to be at this stage.

STEP 3

Use plastic wrap to cover the henna paste making sure it touches the top surface of the paste & leave in a warm area for the dye release process.

(5 hours for water, 12 hours for lemon juice)

After dye release process, the top layer will be darker then the paste below. Add more liquid if you need. Mix until paste is able to form ribbons that are able to keep their form without completely disappearing in 10 seconds.

STEP 5

SPOT TEST! Dap a small dot of henna on your palm. Wipe off after 10 mins, You should have a bright pumpkin orange stain.

STEP 6

Line a cup with a pipping bag and stretch over a stocking. Pour the henna paste into the stocking lined bag to strain the henna.

STEP 7

Twist the ends of the piping bag & stocking tightly making sure the end of the stocking is left out hanging. While holding the tightly twisted part of the bag, pull the stocking out to strain the paste, removing any lumps and/or debris from your paste, leaving you smooth natural henna paste ready to cone.
